DMK offers Vaiko's MDMK 6 seats as part of alliance, talks still on with Congress
MDMK on Saturday finalised its seat-sharing formula with ally DMK ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The DMK-led alliance comprises junior partners such as the MDMK, Congress, IUML and the Left parties.
The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) will contest six seats in Tamil Nadu as part of the seat-sharing deal with senior partner DMK. Established by former DMK leader Vaiko in 1994, the MDMK has a presence in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Apart from the MDMK, the DMK has also signed seat-sharing deals with other junior alliance partners such as the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) which will be fielding candidates on six seats.
