J&K: Social distance norms violated at senior CRPF officer's farewell

India Today

In a clear violation of social distancing norms, several CRPF officers and their families gathered at the farewell of DIG rank officer in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.

The violation took place at the luncheon organised to bid farewell to DIG CRPF TJ Jacob on May 27 at the Kabootar Khana in Srinagar. Jacob retired on May 31. Several pictures have emerged where the officer and the host are seen shaking hands, throwing caution to the wind.

Located next to scenic Dal lake, the Kabootar Khana is CRPF mess and is used regularly for such events. But considering that there was a nationwide lockdown in place, any such event or function is prohibited as per the Centre's guidelines.
