Mumbai nightlife begins from January 27: Here are benefits, guidelines, rules
Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray's project, to make Mumbai run 24x7, is set to come into effect on January 27. For the pilot project, three areas -- Nariman Point, Kala Ghoda and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) -- are the primarily selected areas.
In these areas, some establishments like malls and restaurants will be allowed to remain open 24 hours. The focus behind the exercise is to generate tourism, provide employment opportunities directly and indirectly and raise the happiness quotient.
Those seeking to operate 24x7 have to intimate respective Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ward offices and local police stations.
