Star player Kidambi Srikanth kept India's campaign in the Swiss Open 2021 men's singles competition alive on Friday after registering a thumping win over Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand.
Srikanth made light work of his opponent, winning the quarterfinal match 21-19, 21-15 to move into the last-four of the competition. He is the only Indian male player still alive in the singles event in Basel.
Srikanth, who won this Super 300 tournament in 2015, had defeated world no.50 Thomas Rouxel of France in the round of 16.
The other Indian men didn't fair as well as Srikanth on Friday with Ajay Jayaram and B Sai Praneeth both losing their quarterfinal matches.
