Why Disha Ravi's bail order is a damning indictment of Delhi police

An explicit order on Disha Ravi's bail application has not only highlighted the ease with which the repressive sedition law is invoked by investigators but also the not so substantive nature of the charges against the 22-year-old climate activist in the 'toolkit' case. The February 23 order passed by additional sessions judge Dharmender Rana in relation to a Delhi police FIR registered for offences under Section 124A (sedition) and 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) of the IPC said that the evidence presented against Ravi was sketchy.
