Poet Varavara Rao's Health Condition Is Stable, Reject His Bail Plea: NIA To Bombay HC

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday urged the Bombay High Court to reject poet-activist Varavara Rao's bail plea, arguing that his present health condition is stable.

Activist Varavara Rao was arrested in the Bhima Koregaon case in June 2018. He has constantly been in an out of Mumbai's JJ Hospital, Nanavati Hospital and the Taloja prison hospital since his arrest due to health complications.

He was admitted to Nanavati Hospital, earlier this month.

Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, who appeared for the NIA, reminded the HC on Wednesday that Rao's latest medical reports from Nanavati Hospital, stated that he was stable and fit to be discharged.
