Unlocking in Thimphu on Sunday 28 days after the national capital of Bhutan went into lockdown due to a rise in Covid19 positive cases.
The Bhutan authorities have also announced unlocking in Paro.
A day after the announcement of unlocking, Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering on Sunday said in a Facebook post: "I would like to remind everyone that the unlocking phase poses high risk of infection and there is a possibility of spike of positive COVID-1 9 cases."
