Pune Weather Forecast, India vs South Africa 2nd Test Match: Will bad weather play spoilsport?
India kick started their home Test season with a convincing 203-run win in the opening Test against South Africa at Visakhapatnam, courtesy an all-round effort from the hosts.
In his new avatar as an opener in Test cricket, Rohit Sharma notched up twin centuries while his opening partner Mayank Agarwal registered a historic double ton in the first innings. South Africa, too, showcased some fine batting with Dean Elgar and Quinton de Kock scoring hundreds to reduce the lead significantly in the 1st innings.
Mohammed Shami picked his 5th 5-wicket-haul in Test whereas the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin shared 15 wickets among them.
With a 1-0 lead in the series, Virat Kohli-led India would look to lock the Freedom Trophy when the two teams face-off in the 2nd Test at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (MCA) on Thursday. However, that would be possible only if rain does not threaten to ruin the fun in Pune.
While the opening Test witnessed minimal interruptions, with only the post-tea session on Day 1 being washed out due to rain, the weather forecast for the 2nd Test doesn't look promising.
