New Delhi: With the Assembly elections in West Bengal inching closer, BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) that decides who will contest from which constituency will meet in Delhi on Thursday to finalise the first list of candidates for 60 seats.

Elections in Bengal, which will be a direct fight between the ruling TMC and the opposition BJP in the state, will be held in eight phases between March 27 and April 29. Counting of votes will be done on May 2.

West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Wednesday said that the party's state unit has shortlisted four to five names per seat for the first two phases of polling and the list of candidates for those phases will be finalised during the CEC meeting on Thursday.
