The Election Commission of India will hold a crucial meeting on Wednesday to finalise the schedule for the upcoming polls to four states (West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala) and one Union Territory (Puducherry). In the meeting, to be chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, deployment of CRPF and number of sensitive booths in each state will also be discussed.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Election Commission will likely hold elections in Bengal in seven-eight phases.
