Ahmedabad Test: Rishabh Pant brings that spark for us in the middle order, says Rohit Sharma
Rishabh Pant on Friday once again showed why he is rated so highly by his teammates after yet another swashbuckling hundred which bailed Team India out of trouble and then put them in the driver's seat by the end of Day 2 of the fourth and final Test against England in Ahmedabad.
Pant came to the crease after the loss of Ajinkya Rahane's wicket at the stroke of Lunch with India struggling at 80 for 4. By the time he left the action after scoring 101 off 118 balls, India had reached 259 for 7 with a lead of 53 runs in the first innings.
Pant forged two crucial partnerships with Rohit Sharma (49) and Ravichandran Ashwin (13) worth 41 and 25 runs for the 5th and 6th wickets before joining forces with Washington Sundar to put India in the driver's seat with a 113-run stand for the 7th wicket.
