Terming the final approval for buying 83 LCA Mar1A fighter jets as a significant achievement for Make in India, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Bipin Rawat said Wednesday that the main objective is to reach a stage where the country can win conflicts using homemade weapon systems.
"Our focus will remain on indigenisation and efforts to progressively support Aatmanirbhar Bharat are our mission. We hope to see our Air Force [IAF] touch the sky with glory with aircraft that has major components including engines that are Made in India," Gen Bipin Rawat told India Today.
